Weluxia oil pulling mouthwash is an ideal product to help improve and support your overall oral care and gum health. Users have found oil pulling as an effective mouthwash to support healthy gums and gum care.

It has been proposed that the viscosity of oil can inhibit bacterial adhesion and plaque coaggregation.

One of the very first symptoms experienced after oil pulling is an increased flow of mucous from the throat and sinuses.

Mucous drainage is considered as our body’s way of removing toxins by causing activation of enzymes.

Oil pulling may help you achieve a fresher mouth by removing harmful bacteria that contributes to bad breath and oral diseases.

Coconut Oil -contains predominantly medium chain
fatty acids of which 45-50 % is lauric acid, known for it`s antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory benefits.

Neem- Used for centuries, Neem soothes and protects the mouth, leaving even the most sensitive mouth feeling healthy, clean and refreshed.

Black Walnut -Our black walnut hull tincture is alcohol free & made in-house. Has been known to treat infections caused by an overgrowth of yeast (yeast infections, candida and thrush), and it is also a potent antifungal against oral bacterial strains that cause decay, and periodontitis.

Black Seed Oil(Hexane Free)- has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activities, reducing biofilm formation and disrupting the colonisation of pathogenic bacteria which are essential for the progression of periodontal disease.

Oregano Oil -Our wild Oregano Oil is sourced from the Mediterranean. Carvacrol, which is present in quantities of 65%, and thymol, which is present in amounts of 3.4%, are two phenol chemicals that contribute to its special quality. It is regarded as a hot oil and a great herb for treating swollen gums.

Use 1 teaspoon in mouth and let it melt first. Vigorously swish and pull in-between the teeth. The oil will become thinner which means it is ready to be discarded. Spit the oil into the trash to avoid clogging sink.

Rinse mouth with warm water.

Should be performed ideally in the morning on empty stomach before brushing teeth and care should be taken that oil is not swallowed as the oil will contain bacteria and toxins..

OIL PULLING FAQ

Oil pulling is an ancient practice with roots in Ayurvedic medicine, often cited for its potential health benefits.

Oral Health Improvement: Oil pulling is believed to help reduce harmful bacteria in the mouth, which can lead to improved oral hygiene. This practice might lower the risk of cavities, gum disease, and bad breath by reducing the presence of bacteria such as Streptococcus mutans.

Gum Health: The mechanical action of swishing oil can massage the gums, potentially reducing inflammation and preventing gingivitis. Some studies suggest that oil pulling can decrease plaque-induced gingivitis.

Whiter Teeth: Many users report that oil pulling helps to naturally whiten teeth over time, possibly due to the removal of stains and reduction of bacteria that cause discoloration.

Detoxification: Proponents claim that oil pulling helps to "pull" toxins out of the body through the mucous membranes in the mouth, although scientific evidence supporting systemic detoxification is limited.

Bad Breath Reduction: Oil pulling can help reduce halitosis by eliminating odour-causing bacteria and particles from the mouth, leading to fresher breath.

Oil pulling has garnered attention for its potential benefits. Oil pulling has been found to help reduce plaque and gingivitis. A study published in the Journal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research found that oil pulling with sesame oil led to a reduction in plaque and gingivitis comparable to chlorhexidine mouthwash, a standard antibacterial mouthwash. For optimal oral health, it should be combined with regular brushing, flossing, and professional dental care

We recommend oil pulling first thing in the morning before any food or drink and before brushing your teeth. Pulling on an empty stomach triggers the release of the maximum amount of the enzyme-containing saliva. These enzymes remove toxins & bacteria out of the lymph fluids & bloods.

Coconut oil is the best oil to use along with sesame or olive oil. Coconut oil is composed mostly of medium chain fatty acids; it is therefore unique compared to the majority of other dietary oils, which are predominantly made up of long chain fatty acids. Approximately 50% of these medium-chain fatty acids are lauric acid, known for its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory benefits . Coconut oil has a saponification index. When it blends with saliva it emulsifies the fat into bicarbonate ions normally found in the saliva.

Coconut oil pulling is thought to whiten teeth by eliminating bacteria and plaque from the mouth. The oil's fatty acids attach to the bacteria, helping to remove stains from the teeth. Although not scientifically proven, this traditional remedy is favoured for its natural, chemical-free approach to oral care. Weluxia Pulling Oil combines coconut oil with 100% pure and natural essential oils to support a balanced oral microbiome, fresher breath, stronger teeth and gums, and a brighter smile.

While there are no suggested contraindications, it is not advisable for children below the age of 5 years . As long as children can spit 1 teaspoon of oil under adult supervision is suggested.

Since you expel the toxins "pulled" out while swishing, oil pulling should be safe during pregnancy. It can also be a soothing way to clean your teeth if you experience gum sensitivity. Be careful not to swallow.

According to Dr Bruce Fife “Oil pulling removes bacteria, pus, and mucus. It cannot pull out porcelain, amalgam, or composite dental materials from the teeth”
